21 students of Levuka Special School will soon enjoy a much safer trip to and from school after the Government of Japan handed over $95,000 grant for the purchase of a new 30-seater school bus.
Levuka Special School Head Teacher Ecelina Lulu said the students have been pestering the teachers for a new bus.
Lulu said the old 26-seater school bus which was handed over to the school by the Government of Japan in 2003 has aged and its condition is beyond repair.
She added the school is now looking for organisers who are willing to donate office equipment, sports gear and new desks and chairs for the school.
