Let us just let bygones be bygones, collaborate, create wealth, generate jobs and secure a economic future.
Those are the words of a former New Zealand politician and the current Ambassador for Pacific Economic Development Shane Jones regarding Prime Minister Voreqe Bainimarama’s official visit to New Zealand.
Jones who is also a Maori chief hoped that the visit would be a turning point in relations between the two countries.
He says it is about time that the two countries kept their differences aside and worked towards better economic cooperation and development.
Jones adds they have had a very cordial relations between the two countries and with the spirit of aroha or love, the friendship that they have over many years are still strong.
He says business houses need to work closely and hope that the Pacific Agreement of Closer Economic Relations or PACER Plus is negotiated with all parties reaching mutual consensus.
