Lands Minister, Mere Vuniwaqa

Lands Minister, Mere Vuniwaqa stresses that it was a sad day for women after what Ratu Naiqama Lalabalavu said in the public meeting in Makoi last Thursday.

While speaking in parliament last night, Vuniwaqa said it is also sad how SODELPA reacted to the comments made in the meeting.

While supporting the move to suspend Ratu Naiqama from parliament for two years, Vuniwaqa says an attack on the Speaker is an attack on the institution.

She also questioned the opposition how the comments by Ratu Naiqama can be condoned.

Vuniwaqa also labelled one of the comments by Ratu Naiqama as sexist.
