Many Pacific Countries and quite small and economies of scale do not necessarily exist and it is critical to have regional collaboration with financial tax organisations for Pacific States.
This was highlighted by the Acting Prime Minister and Attorney‑General, Aiyaz Sayed‑Khaiyum while officiating at the Pacific Financial Technical Assistance Centre Awards Dinner at Sofitel Resort in Nadi.
The Annual Awards recognises the efforts of Pacific Island countries whose financial tax organisations continue to create a benchmark for other Pacific Sates.
Sayed-Khaiyum says that as small Pacific States we do not necessarily have all the expertise existing in all the individual countries.
He also acknowledged Australia and New Zealand for facilitating the much needed collaboration among the Pacific Island States within the taxation system.
This Year’s Pacific Financial Technical Assistance Centre Awards winners were Kiribati, Fiji and Tonga.
