Investment Fiji has collected $510,000 as the Foreign Investment Registration Certification Fees within the last 5 months of last year.
The organisation has now handed over this money to the Ministry of Economy.
Investment Fiji Chief Executive Officer, Godo Mueller‑Teut says 204 Foreign Investment Registration Certification applications were received from August to December last year.
He says wholesale and retail, tourism, manufacturing and agriculture sectors continued to attract large number of investors in the country.
Godo Mueller‑ Teut says throughout 2017, Investment Fiji received a total of 448 Foreign Investment Registration Certification applications, collecting more than $1.1m in fees.
This represents more than 14% increase in Foreign Investment Registration Certification applications received in 2016.
