The investigation in relation to the alleged Police brutality case in Vanuabalavu, Lau has been completed and the case docket is now with the Director of Public Prosecutions to determine whether charges should be laid against the officers involved.
Commissioner of Police, Ben Groenewald says they will now be carrying out their own departmental investigation against the officers who allegedly committed the act.
This investigation will be carried out by their Disciplinary Tribunal.
Groenewald says they have taken no such step to suspend or terminate the officers involved.
Police will not reveal the number of officers involved.
Photos showing images of Anare Cama from Mavana Village in hospital after being allegedly assaulted by police were uploaded on Facebook in April.
Cama who was drinking with a few other friends claims that they were taken by police to the Mualevu Police station and allegedly assaulted.
The family then filed a complaint with police.
