Interviews are underway for the new government Permanent Secretaries and some positions are expected to be filled by as early as January next year.
Chairman of the Public Service Commission, Vishnu Mohan says some more interviews will take place this week and they are hoping to finalize their recommendation to the Public Service Minister by next month.
Mohan says their intention is to identify as many candidates as possible for the positions.
Mohan confirms that no acting appointment has been made for the position of Permanent Secretary at the Finance Ministry.
The position was left vacant after the departure of Filimoni Waqabaca who is now the High Commissioner of Fiji to New Zealand.
