The 28‑year‑old inmate who was allegedly raped by three other inmates gave his evidence before High Court Judge Justice Achala Wengapulli today.
The man told the court that three people held him outside the washroom at the Suva Corrections Centre and punched him.
He told the court that he was tied up and punched again before the alleged rape took place in a dormitory.
The inmate informed the court that he recognises the faces of the accused.
He says the first accused was known as Black, he does not know the name of the second accused while the third accused was Sefton Tupou.
It is alleged that the incident happened at about 6pm on November 2nd 2012 when the standby was done - this is after the physical count of the inmates.
The court was told that none of the Corrections officers were present when the alleged incident took place.
Jonacani Ciritabua, Tevita Qaqanivalu and Sefton Tupou are each charged with one count of rape.
The three accused and the 28‑year‑old victim are serving prisoners.
The trial will continue in the Suva High Court tomorrow.
