The Ministry of Industry, Trade and Tourism is looking into separating the approval processes of small and big businesses into two separate systems..

Minister for Industry and Trade, Premila Kumar says this will happen in 1 and a half years.

Kumar says this will be done to simplify the processes and reduce the time span in which investors get their approvals.

She says small, medium and micro businesses have to go through the same approval processes as big businesses and sometimes the small businesses don't require that level of approval process.

Kumar says there is a need to digitize the approval process to simplify it.

Meanwhile the Indian High Commissioner to Fiji, Vishvas Sapkal has handed a cheque of $2.04 million which is for the Ministry's Micro, Small And Medium Enterprises assistance program.
