More than 20 engineers from Indonesia have arrived in the country and are currently camping at Queen Victoria School to start the rehabilitation work after the prominent boarding school was devastated by Tropical Cyclone Winston.
Minister for Education Dr Mahendra Reddy says the Ministry of Infrastructure will work closely with their monitoring section in carrying out the rehabilitation work.
Reddy says more engineers from Indonesia are expected to arrive in the next two weeks.
He says the survey and damage assessment was done by the Ministry and the Indonesian Embassy and the total cost of damage is over $9 million.
QVS Old Boys Association President Anasa Vocea says they are glad that the government has brought in trusted people to assist with the reconstruction of QVS.
The work is expected to begin at the end of this month.
