The Indonesian government is willing to assist Fiji in urban planning, engineering and urban management in future.
A nine member delegation led by Director General for Spatial Planning and Development, Ministry of Public Works and Spatial Planning Basuki Hadimuljono today met with Minister for Local Government Colonel Samuela Saumatua and Special Administrators of Suva, Nausori and Nasinu today.
While welcoming the delegation Colonel Saumatua said the Fijian Government acknowledges the constraints it has in managing its urban centres and subsequently, it is pursuing opportunities to build capacity on best practices for adaptation in addressing urban issues in Fiji.
Meanwhile, a Memorandum of Understanding is expected to be signed between the Local Government ministers of both countries in August.
