Indonesian women artisans and the Indonesian women in business council will attend the National Women’s Expo this year which will be held in Suva from October 14th to the 16th.
This follows the signing of an agreement formalizing the Fiji‑Indonesia partnership for the implementation of a three year work plan that will advance women empowerment and child protection.
The agreement was officially signed by the Minister for Women, Children and Poverty Alleviation Rosy Akbar and her Indonesian counterpart, Dr. Yohana Yembise in Jakarta, Indonesia.
In the implementation of the 3 year work plan, Fiji and Indonesia have agreed on 5 activities which will be monitored and evaluated by the Joint Technical Working Group led by the two Ministries and their respective diplomatic missions.
These activities include a Joint Technical Working Group that will see the annual review of the implementation framework.
This will be held in Fiji later this month.
Also included will be Women Entrepreneurship Training and capacity building programs to be facilitated by Indonesia.
There will also be an exchange of “Experts of Practitioners” to enhance the status of women and children.
The Fiji and Indonesia Joint Monitoring and Technical Working Framework will be monitored on a quarterly basis from 2015 to 2018.
