The Indian government has given $224,000 to the Fijian Elections Office for the purchase of 4 additional vehicles to help in their preparations for the upcoming general elections.
While receiving the assistance, the Permanent Secretary for the Prime Minister’s Office, Yogesh Karan says that government is happy for the additional support towards the general elections which included the $70,000 worth SUV Mahindra vehicle that they earlier donated.
Karan says the elections office has also received indelible ink worth $20,000.
India’s High Commissioner to Fiji Visvash Sapkal says India is always ready to assist Fiji in the upcoming elections.
Meanwhile the Supervisor of Elections Mohammad Saneem thanked the Indian government for their ongoing assistance to carry out the elections.
