Indian Government and Fiji Navy hold talks on the possibility to provide border security for Fiji

The Indian High Commissioner to Fiji Vishvas Sapkal has confirmed to Fijivillage that the Indian Government is holding talks with the Fiji Navy on the possibility to provide border security support to Fiji.

Sapkal highlighted this following the announcement of the Goodwill visit of the India Naval Ship, Sahyadri which is currently berthed at the Kings Wharf in Suva.

Sapkal says that this is a continuous discussion that they are working on with the Fiji Navy as part of a partnership to strengthening the relationship between the two countries.

Meanwhile, the reception for the 72nd Independence Day of India will be held onboard the Sahyadri this evening.

The Sahyadri will then depart our shores late tomorrow.
