The Ministry of Children, Women and Poverty Alleviation through Operation Loloma has recorded an increase in cases of children selling food around shopping centres at night.
Permanent Secretary Josefa Koroivueta said they have found out that parents are basically idol at home while their children are roaming the streets.

Koroivueta said the Ministry will continue with its effective awareness campaigns to address this issue.
48 percent of child welfare cases recorded by the Ministry of Children and the Fiji Police Force this year were sexual abuse cases.
