Police Commissioner Sitiveni Qiliho has asked for regular patrols at the venues where Ram Naumi prayer gatherings are being held after several cases of people stoning the prayer venues.
Police confirm that numerous complaints of stoning incidents have been received by senior officers of the force.
Patrols will be increased around the country and anyone caught stoning the prayer venues will be investigated and charged with common nuisance.
Police stress that people have a constitutional right to practice their own religion and any attack on any religious gathering will not be tolerated.
