In 2017 Fiji’s total exports grew by 6.1% to $2.5 billion while the total export for 2018 is forecasted to grow by 7.5%.
This was highlighted by Minister for Industry and Trade, Faiyaz Koya while launching the Prime Ministers International Business Awards 2018.
The Prime Ministers International Business Awards recognizes and rewards the best businesses, empowering the corporate world to excel.
Koya says that in 2017, total investments were approximately 27% of the GDP, which is $2.6 billion adding that the 2018-2019 national budget continues the pro-business, sustainable and consistent policies of government in providing targeted support to Fijians and Fijian businesses.
There are 12 categories of awards to be given ensuring that no business or sector is left out despite its size, nature and markets.
Koya also encouraged small businesses, young entrepreneurs, companies that have demonstrated success in the Fijian economy to apply for the Awards.
The Prime Ministers International Business Awards will be held in November of this year.
