The implementation of the Fiji Ridge to Reef project will ensure that our environment is safe, cleaner and more resilient in the future.
The aim of this project is to preserve biodiversity, ecosystem services, improve climate resilience and sustain livelihoods through a ridge‑to‑reef management of priority water catchments on the two main islands of Fiji.
Assistant Minister for Local Government, Housing and Environment Lorna Eden says the Global Environment Facility and United Nations Development Program has given a grant of US$7.39million for this project.
While officiating at the Fiji Ridge to Reef Inception Workshop, Eden says this project will sustain hope in our communities.
Eden says this will reconfirm our commitment to ensuring Fijians enjoy a safe and a clean environment.
