The opposition has confirmed today that it will continue with its plans to replace the Prime Minister Voreqe Bainimarama and the Speaker of Parliament Doctor Jiko Luveni in the first sitting of parliament this year.
The opposition does not have the numbers in the house however Opposition MP Semesa Karavaki says they are opting to go ahead with their plan.
Fijivillage has been informed that Karavaki filed the motion of no confidence against Bainimarama and there is an intention to have Ro Teimumu Kepa to take up the Prime Minister’s post.
Bainimarama says he is waiting for the issue to be raised.
He has not made any further comments.
The no confidence motion against the Speaker did not go past the business committee stage as the government members strongly opposed the motion.
Ro Teimumu Kepa could not be reached for comments.
All the opposition’s motions will be debated in parliament tomorrow.
