Former Head of Content for Fiji Television Limited Tanya Waqanika has claimed that the reason why she lost her job was for Fiji TV to secure its network license.
Fijian Holdings Limited, which is the majority shareholder of Fiji TV, announced earlier this week that CEO Tevita Gonelevu and Waqanika have been replaced.
Speaking in an interview with ABC’s Radio Australia, Waqanika said she was not told of the reason why she has lost her job.
According to Waqanika she has done nothing wrong and she worked in the interest of the shareholders of Fiji TV.
When Fijivillage contacted Fijian Holdings Limited Chief Executive Officer Nouzab Fareed on the claims made by Waqanika, Fareed confirms that the issue is now a legal matter and he will not make a comment.
However, Fareed has earlier confirmed that the decision was made for the best interest of the company.
