Police Commissioner Sitiveni Qiliho has reminded the high rank officers that the people of Fiji are watching and their expectations of service delivery will now become greater.
The Fiji Police Force today received 33 brand new Hilux 4 wheel drive vehicles from Asco Motors.
While receiving the vehicles today, Qiliho stated that over the weekend they have publicized the mobile contacts of the Station Officers and Officers-in-Charge as he wants people to communicate directly with them.
He said he had directed this as Police will become more accessible in times of need.
Qiliho said in the last few months he has gone to the Minister of Finance and has fought the case to have more vehicles.
The Police Commissioner said he will not hesitate to take the vehicles away if he receives a report that the vehicle has been misused or abused.
Qiliho also asked Director Traffic Mahesh Mishra and his Divisional Traffic Officers that the issue of maintenance and the proper use of these vehicles will be looked into on a regular basis.
The Police Commissioner said they have been in need of vehicles for some time now and are grateful to the government for hearing their plea.
