Cancer survivor Asenaca Driso believes she has received a second chance at life by the grace of God.
31-year-old Driso who is a mother of five felt privileged to be able to survive the 10 weeks treatment in India which was a very difficult and painful experience.
Driso who is from Ba, was first diagnosed with stage two cervical cancer on January 26th this year at the Lautoka hospital.
She says when she was told that she had cancer, the first thing that came to her mind was death.
Driso adds that she told her husband that she didn’t want to be alone when she was admitted as the nurses had advised her that males were not allowed in the ward at Lautoka Hospital.
Driso highlighted that one night her husband came home and confessed that he had an extra-martial affair and asked for forgiveness for a second chance in their marriage.
She states that when her husband told her of his unfaithfulness, she found it difficult to forgive him however she felt that with the power of prayer she was able to forgive him and mend their relationship as a couple.
She acknowledged her family and friends in assisting her to raise $15,000 to go to India for the treatment.
Driso spoke at the Pinktober Morning Tea at Value City in Nabua today.
