SODELPA’s Jale Baba and FEO Supervisor Mohammed Saneem

SODELPA’s Jale Baba has publicly confirmed through Fijivillage that he had put up incorrect information about the General Elections Voters Roll which resulted in many people seeing the incorrect details on Baba’s facebook page.

This had become a major concern as Baba was discrediting the Fijian Elections Office Voters Roll.

Baba is now saying that he would like to apologize to the Fijian Elections Office.

Fijivillage questioned Jale Baba on the wrong information that he put up on social media. Baba has admitted that he was wrong in the process of verifying his data.

Baba says that he was working from home and misinterpreted the figures that he was given.

He has now removed the post.

The Fijian Elections Office announced yesterday afternoon that it is concerned about the incorrect information about the Voters Roll that was put up on social media by SODELPA’s Jale Baba and will be pursuing legal avenues for this type of behavior.

This was highlighted by the Supervisor of Elections Mohammed Saneem who says this sort of behaviour will only lead to misinformation regarding the whole general elections process.

He says that all information published by political party representatives must be accurate.

Saneem says that this is the time to be serious about the general elections.

Meanwhile the Electoral Voter Registration Coordinator, Litia Sema says that wrong figures were highlighted by SODELPA on the Voter Rolls of three polling stations which includes Wai District School, Yavu Community Hall in Lomaiviti and DAV College in Ba.
