I feel proud knowing that once I pass away my ashes will be properly discharged.
Those are the words of 60-year-old Shashi Chandra of Nakasi who says that she was proud to be part of the official opening of the Vatuwaqa Funeral Rites Facility.
Chandra has thanked the government for providing the facility.
Meanwhile, Former Parliamentarian, Sayed Abdul-Khaiyum senior was very emotional to see the facility opened.
Abdul-Khaiyum says that while joining parliament in 1992 as a member of the National Federation Party he had suggested the idea in parliament, considering the vast population of the Hindu community.
His dream has come true through the Fiji First government and says that this will be something he will cherish.
Attorney General, Aiyaz Sayed-Khaiyum says the facility has got nothing to do with his father or which political party has suggested the idea, rather it’s about a constitution that believes that all Fijians are treated equally.
