In 2016, Saula Mule dropped out of the University of the South Pacific for the second time after the passing of his father.
Despite being faced with financial difficulties, he persevered and qualified for the Tertiary Education Loans Scheme.
Only years later, the 27-year-old is one of 1,321 University of the South Pacific Laucala Campus students graduating in the University's September graduation.
Mule who hails from Nakorolevu in Namara says he even ran away from home but patience from his family and friends helped him get through it all after the passing of his father.
This is the highest number of graduates in a September graduation and it is 11% more than last year.
64% of the graduates are women.
The third graduation ceremony will be held today.
That is for the Faculty of Business and Economics.
