A man has reached out to Police to clear his name after being accused on social media for stealing personal belongings of the victims of the horrific Nabou fatal accident .

Veresia Sokosoko contacted Police saying that he collected a number of items from the scene and handed it over to a police officer which he could only describe as wearing a uniform with 3 stripes.

Police have since confirmed the officer to be the Traffic officer Nadi who has also confirmed receiving all items as described by Sokosoko.

All of those items have been claimed by the victims families with the exception of two bags.

Sokosoko said he was taught by his parents to help and not steal and is urging those who may have taken items to do the right thing and return it to police.

He says his family has been attacked because of some lies on social media.

Sokosoko says when they arrived at the scene, some were busy taking photos of the victims while a few others including one European lady was assisting the victims, so they tried to help in whatever way possible.

Commissioner of Police Brigadier General Sitiveni Qiliho has acknowledged those who genuinely assisted the victims following the horrific accident in Nabou last weekend.
