Hundreds stranded as parts of Labasa flooded

Qawa Crossing at Boubale in Bulikela and Nakama Crossing in Labasa are under one metre of flood water.

The crossings are closed to all traffic.

FRA says these crossings are very low and they easily get flooded.

Meanwhile hundreds of people including students were not able to go to work and school today as Urata Crossing in Bulileka is flooded due to heavy rain since last night.

The water level is close to one metre above the crossing and the vehicles cannot pass through.

This crossing connects people from Urata to the main access road which goes towards Labasa Town, the hospital and schools.

A heavy rain warning is in place for the whole of Fiji.
