Hundreds of people from the Fijian Chinese Community gathered at the Yat Sen secondary school hall today to celebrate the Chinese New Year of the Goat, Sheep or Ram.
While speaking at the event, Fiji Chinese Association President, Jenny Seeto said Chinese New Year is an occasion which brings families and communities closer together.
She said the New Year is an event which allows everyone to mark the achievements and contributions made by the Chinese Community in Fiji.
Seeto also highlighted that it is a time to reflect on the long standing relationship which Fiji and China share.
The Sheep, Goat or Ram is representative of something gentle and calm and is believed to remind people of beautiful things.
