The Lesbian, Gay, Bisexual, Transgender, Queer and Intersex community across the country is currently marching through Suva City from the Suva Flea Market to Ratu Sukuna Park commemorating the International Day against Homophobia, Transphobia and Biphobia.
Human Rights and Anti‑Discrimination Commission Director, Ashwin Raj has said that the Commission will join the LGBTQI community in the celebrations today.
In a statement, Raj says that the theme for this year’s celebration is ‘Justice and Protection for All’ adding that this is significant for the LGBTQI community in view of the structural violence, discrimination and degrading treatment they are exposed to in their daily lives.
The LGBTQI stakeholders will also be holding Pride Rally at Ratu Sukuna Park from 10am to 12:30pm.
