180 families who volunteered to move out from Numara settlement have now been urged by the Housing Authority of Fiji to come forward with the required documents in regards to the allocation of the Tacirua East Subdivision Phase 1A.
Acting Chief Executive Officer, Jagdish Prasad said Housing Authority is prioritizing the allocation to the former Namara settlers who have been living in the area prior to its development in 2009.
Prasad also said they had promised the people that Housing Authority will provide the opportunity for the people to buy a lot on the condition they were eligible to do so.
Prasad added there are over 4,000 customers waiting specifically for the Tacirua East lots since 2004.
Meanwhile, the Authority is offering attractive incentives such as helping customers to access Government’s Housing Assistance Grant of $10,000.
Prasad said this incentive is towards the construction of their first home; free standard house plans; and VAT refund on a maximum loan outlay of $120,000 of combined land purchase and house construction subject to condition laid down by the Fiji Revenue Customs Authority.
There are over 400 lots at Phase 1A with an average cost of approximately $28,000.
