Hoteliers hope for a relaxation in taxes in 2017/2018 Budget

The Fiji Hotels and Tourism Association is hoping for a relaxation in taxes that concern the Tourism Industry when the 2017/2018 National Budget is announced on Thursday.

Association President Dixon Seeto says they have done a very detailed budget submission to the Ministries of Tourism and Economy and they have highlighted two key areas which include taxes and also the reinstatement and enhancement of incentives.

Seeto says they are also hopeful that the marketing grant for Tourism Fiji will increase.

The 2017/2018 National Budget will be announced by the Minister for Economy Aiyaz Sayed-Khaiyum at 7.30pm this Thursday.
