Attorney-General and Minister for Public Enterprises, Aiyaz Sayed-Khaiyum.

Fiji is hoping to host more international events in the near future which is expected to further boost the tourism industry.

This was revealed by Attorney-General and Minister for Public Enterprises, Aiyaz Sayed-Khaiyum.

Sayed-Khaiyum says over the past few years, Fiji has been approached by a number of international event organizers such as the Film Fair Awards from India.

The Attorney-General says Fiji has also put up it’s hand to host the ADB annual meeting in 2020.

This will be the ADB annual meeting in the Pacific.

Sayed-Khaiyum says Fiji does not have the capacity to host such events and the government is currently talking to the FNPF where they are planning to put up a conference facility in a resort that is being built in Momi.

The Minister says the ADB annual meeting is expected to attract about 4,000 participants.
