Most areas in Suva, Nausori, Navua and Tailevu received a high amount of rainfall over the weekend.
Suva received 198 millimetres, Nausori 136 millimetres, Navua received 52 millimetres while other parts of the country received less than 30 millimetres of rain.
Acting Weather director Aminiasi Tuidraki said there was some localized flooding but there was no major flooding in rivers and creeks.
Tuidraki said the moist easterly wind fall is dominating the weather in the country and producing rainfall.
He added that from today till the New Year they are expecting a trough associated with a weather system located far over Samoa to affect the country from the North.
He said from Thursday they expect showers in the Northern and Eastern divisions, Lomaiviti and the Lau group.
He said the tropical depression near Samoa currently has no threat to Fiji as according to projections it will move south, further away from Fiji.
