50-year-old Bernard Hicks has been convicted of the murder of his 33-year-old defacto wife by High Court judge Justice Salesi Temo.
Bernard Hicks pleaded guilty of murdering the woman in an apartment in Suva in May this year.
Hicks’ lawyer was asked if his client had stabbed the woman several times in the right chest area.
His lawyer confirmed this.
Then Justice Temo asked him if the conduct caused a series of internal injuries or caused the woman=s death.
Hicks’ lawyer also confirmed this.
Hicks is remanded in custody and the case will be called on the 26th of this month for mitigation and sentencing.
Hicks stabbed his defacto wife at their rented apartment at Robertson Road after an argument.
She was rushed to the hospital but was pronounced dead on arrival.
