Heavy rain and strong wind is now picking up in Nakasaleka, Kadavu.
This has been confirmed by Principal of the Kadavu Provincial School, Litiana Romanu.
Romanu says that they have also opted to keep the students in the school dormitory as they are also encountering rough seas.
Winds have also slowly begun to pick up with rain in Galoa and Namara, Kadavu earlier this afternoon.
Speaking to Fijivillage from Galoa, Tavuki in Kadavu, Maraia Dunbar says that as winds begin to pick up, they have secured houses with ropes and boulders.
She adds that men have also taken down solar panels as it has now started to rain heavily.
Namara villager, Ravuama Labailagi says that the men have begun to bring boats into shore as seas are also rough.
He says that the Turaga ni Koro has advised that people uproot crops from their plantation that can be used before it gets dark.
