A heavy rain alert is still in force for Vanua Levu, Taveuni and nearby smaller islands, Lau and Lomaiviti Group, Yasawa Group and Eastern half of Viti Levu which includes Korovou, Nausori, Suva, Pacific Harbour and Navua.
A trough of low pressure lies just to the north of Vanua Levu and is expected to gradually drift south.
Another trough of low pressure is approaching the Group from the West and is expected to affect Fiji for the next few days.
Showers are expected to gradually increase to heavy rain tonight.
Localised heavy falls may lead to flash flooding.
