A heavy rain alert remains in force for Vanua Levu, Taveuni and nearby smaller islands, Eastern half of Viti Levu that includes Suva, Deuba, Nausori, Korovou, Rakiraki and Naitasiri, Kadavu and nearby smaller islands, Lomaiviti and Northern Lau group.
The Nadi Weather Office has confirmed that a trough of low pressure lies slow moving to the North of Fiji.
It says that associated cloud and showers with the moist easterly wind flow affects that Northen and Eastern parts of the country.
Showers in the heavy rain alert areas is expected to increase to frequent and heavy rain from later tomorrow.
Localised heavy falls may lead to flash flooding of low-lying areas.
