A heavy rain warning remains in force for Viti Levu, Vanua Levu Yasawa and Mamanuca Group, Kadavu and nearby smaller islands, Lomaiviti and the Southern Lau group, Taveuni and nearby smaller islands.
A Heavy rain alert remains in force for the rest of the Fiji group.
A Flood Alert is now in force for all low lying areas and areas adjacent to small streams of Viti Levu and Vanua Levu.
The Nadi Weather Office has also confirmed that a strong wind warning remains in force for land areas of Southern Lau and Lomaiviti group, Kadavu and nearby smaller islands, Yasawa and Mamanuca group and the Western and Northern parts of Viti Levu that include, Navua, Sigatoka, Coral Coast, Korolevu, Nadi, Lautoka, Ba, Tavua and Rakiraki.
The Weather Office says that an active trough of low pressure affects the Fiji group from the West and gradually moving East.
It adds that a tropical disturbance lies to the East of Solomon Islands embedded within the trough and is expected to gradually move Southeast and pass close to Fiji.
The Weather Office says people can expect occasional rain, heavy at times and a few thunderstorms.
Localised falls may lead to flash flooding of low lying areas.
The Weather Office says that this weather system is expected to clear by late Friday afternoon.
