The Health Ministry said they have been rationing the supply of the injection, Heparin at the CWM hospital since June this year as it has been low in stock.
In a statement, the Ministry said they also had to borrow stock from the Suva Private Hospital since June.
The Ministry said CWM hospital had run out of all stock of Heparin Injection on the 11th of this month and the divisional hospitals could not assist further as they were also with critical levels of stocks.
It said the new stock for the injection would have arrived by last Saturday.
Meanwhile, a woman raised concern last week that she has been told by the CWM hospital staff to buy the heparin injection for her husband who is admitted in hospital because of heart problems.
Joshlyn Lata of Caubati said her husband, Karan Singh has suffered serious heart problems and it is hard for her to buy the injection as it is expensive for her.
Lata said she has left work to look after her husband and they cannot afford to buy the medicine.
Upon checking, we found out that one Heparin injection costs around $9.10 in the private pharmacy.
Lata told Fijivillage that she was told to buy 50,000 millilitres of Heparin.
