Minister for Health and Medical Services Dr Ifereimi Waqainabete paid a courtesy visit to the chief of Nadi, Na Turaga na Tui Nadi at Narewa Village, Nadi today.
Alongside his team from the Ministry of Health, Dr Waqainabete was received by the Turaga ni Yavusa, Ratu Timoci Dua-ka after presenting a traditional sevusevu.
Waqainabete says that they are thankful to the Tui Nadi for opening Nadi and its surrounding areas to not only visitors from around the world but also for people to live and make a living, so in that respect the government is appreciative to the Tui Nadi and other brotherly chiefs for sharing their land.
The Minster also visited the Nadi District Hospital, where renovations are currently underway for its maternity ward and main lobby.
At the Nadi District Hospital Waqainabete met with the Subdivisional Medical Officer, Nadi, Dr Mohammed Shah and his senior staff and was joined by Assistant Minister, Alexander O'Connor.
