Head teacher pleads not guilty to indecently assaulting six female students

A 42-year-old head teacher of a primary school in Naitasiri pleaded not guilty to indecently assaulting six female students before High Court Judge Justice Riyaz Hamza today.

Ratu Ravuama Vunivalu Vuibau has also pleaded not guilty to one count of rape and one count of sexual assault.

It was heard in court today that the accused had hugged some the students from the back.

The victims are aged between 14 and 12 years and it is alleged that 42-year-old Ratu Ravuama Vunivalu had committed the offence sometime between the beginning of the school term until early September this year.

Vuibau is charged with 1 count of rape, 1 count of sexual assault, 3 counts of indecent assault and 2 counts of indecently annoying any person.

He has been remanded in custody.

The bail hearing will be heard on 20th November 2017.
