Family, friends, former workmates and top government officials attended the funeral service of the former Minister of Education, Filipe Bole at the Wesley City Mission Church in Suva this morning.

Bole's granddaughter Oripa Fuatau while giving the family’s eulogy highlighted that her grandfather was an inspiration to the whole family.

Fuatau says she still remembers the days when her grandfather paid all her LTA fines. She says at times her grandfather would pay her fines and she would find out later.

Fuatau says that with the passing of this great man, Fiji and her family has lost someone who has been a great inspiration to many.

Filipe Bole will be laid to rest at the Lovonilase Cemetery this afternoon.
