The hard work of four youth running a commercial farm was recognised last night as they won the Youth Group Entrepreneur of the year award at the Youth Entrepreneurship Awards at Holiday Inn in Suva.
Eseta’s farm which is a commercial farm based in Tovata in Nasinu and Wailase in Naitasiri is focused on the production of dalo, ginger, cassava and sweet potatoes.
They also operate a piggery which produces Bio-gas used for domestic cooking.
Farm Director Eseta Mauvu says the award is for all young women entrepreneurs who work hard everyday to provide for their families.
The 36-year-old says the business has helped her to support herself and her family.
Apart from running her business, Eseta Mauvu also supports the education of children from poor backgrounds.
The Female Entrepreneur of the year was Nirupa Devi Sharma who is a qualified machinist from the Training and Productivity Authority of Fiji.
She is also the owner of Neha’s Tailoring in Lautoka.
Sharma has future plans of expanding her business and hire more young female employees.
The Male Entrepreneur of the year was Rajnel Prasad who is the owner of Bright Future Films.
He produced his first movie ‘Adhura Sapna’ between 2013 to 2015 and the movie won the Best Director and Best Film awards at the Kula Film and FNU film awards.
