Most people were surprised to see hail for the first time
There was a hail storm for a short period of time in parts of Rakiraki this afternoon.
Gyanendra Sharma who was in Rakiraki Town says they first thought that someone was throwing stones on top of the vehicles and shops but it did not take them long to realise it was a hail storm.
The Nadi Weather Office says a huge thunderstorm activity is taking place around the Rakiraki area and this would have caused the hail storm.
