The HFC Bank has donated $5,000 to the Foundation of Education for the Needy Children (FENC).
The HFC Bank is working in partnership with the Foundation of Education for the Needy Children who organized a walkathon to raise funds for their projects.
Speaking at the opening of the walkathon at Albert Park this morning, Prime Minister Voreqe Bainimarama said that the walk is specifically to raise funds for the education of the needy children.
Bainimarama said that it is important for individuals in the corporate sectors to contribute to the Foundation of Education for the Needy Children so that it will give business houses the privilege to exercise social responsibility.
HFC Bank CEO Isikeli Tikoduadua said the funds are for the people living in the squatter settlements or in the rural areas.
The Foundation of Education for the Needy Children National Coordinator Joape Kuinikoro said their organization was set up in 2009 to assist disadvantaged children to have access to education.
Similar walkathons were held in Nasinu, Sigatoka, Nadi, Lautoka, Labasa and Savusavu this morning.
