A group of nurses from the Fiji School of Nursing graduating class of 2009 are still waiting for their Diplomas to be returned after the school had initially collected it to be certified by the Ministry of Health.
A representative of the group has informed Fijivillage that prior to their graduation in 2009, all students were required to hand in their diplomas to be certified as it is a normal procedure.
They also highlighted that they had raised the issue with the previous Vice Chancellor, Dr Ganesh Chand but it was not addressed.
Fijivillage has spoken to Dr Ganesh Chand and he said that his administration team had addressed the issue.
He said all diplomas were returned to the University’s School of Nursing in Tamavua and all nurses who had graduated from 2009 were requested to collect it from the academic office.
The current Acting Vice Chancellor for Fiji National University, Professor Ian Rouse has issued a statement saying that he is not aware of the situation and he will now ask the Registrar to follow-up the issue and resolve any matter which is within the ambit of FNU to resolve.
