Australian Prime Minister Scott Morrison together with Minister for National Security and Defence Inia Seruiratu have broke ground for the development of the Regional Peacekeeping and Humanitarian Assistance and Disaster Response Centre.
The site will be at the RFMF Blackrock training camp at Votualevu, Nadi.
Morrison says the participation that is provided by Fiji all around the world is a demonstration of Fiji’s commitment to a peaceful world and also a stable and secure region and that is also in Australia’s interest.
Morrison says a stable and secure Pacific is important for the prosperity of Australia as much as it is for Fiji and the other Pacific Island nations.
He once again paid tribute to the Fijian Peacekeepers around the world.
Morrison departed Fiji yesterday.
