Years of waiting will finally come to an end for thousands of residents of Koronivia in Nausori as the Koronivia Road will be sealed.
Major works have already begun on the road and the residents will no longer have to deal with the dust.
The Fiji Roads Authority confirms that under the Koronivia Road rehabilitation project approximately 1.5km of the road section will be sealed this month, starting at the Kings Road junction.
This will join up with the 850‑metre section in front of the residential area that was sealed late last year.
The road serves more than 4,000 residents who commute to work and school daily and the farming communities that supply root crops and vegetables at urban and surrounding local markets.
Meanwhile Baulevu Road which has three schools located along it and serves the villages of Naganivatu, Nakini, Natoaika and Deladamanu will be sealed in March this year.
The FRA say that through the targeted sealing program the government and the Fiji Roads Authority hope to reduce dust nuisance for communities and improve the travel experience for commuters.
