Attorney General Aiyaz Sayed-Khaiyum says the government is working with the Supervisor of Elections to ensure that the 2018 general elections are held in a credible manner like the last one.
Sayed-Khaiyum says in 2006 the number of invalid votes were about 9.4% and in 2014, it was 0.7% which was probably the lowest Fiji has ever had for a long time.
He says they want to improve systems and they will be looking at the practical application of the rules pertaining to making the elections a lot more efficient.
Sayed-Khaiyum says they need to refine all the provisions to give people greater excess.
