Government will add new positions for doctors to cater for the huge amount of outpatients in the Western Division.
Minister for Health, Jone Usamate says that although outpatients have increased in the last three years, they are aiming to employ more doctors by the end of this year.
Usamate says that their target is to have one doctor per thousand patients.
He says the recent announcement of the increased salaries for doctors will assist the Ministry in retaining them.
Usamate adds that resignations are often a contributing factor to the lack of doctors.
